Valley Isle Aquatics offers many professional courses such as WSI, FIT, Lifeguard Training, and many more.
These courses are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you.
Successful course completion performance requires participation in classroom and skill sessions, as well as successful performance in skill and knowledge evaluation, which means you must score at least an 80% on each of the written examinations, participate fully in all sessions, and pass all skills.
Due to the nature of the skills in these courses, you will be participating in strenuous activities, such as swimming while assisting a student, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the floor, lifting and carrying heavy objects, or moving a person from one location to another. If you have a medical condition or disability, or if you have any questions about your ability to participate fully in these courses, discuss this with your physician and the appropriate person at the local Red Cross Chapter before you start a course.
Upon successful completion of an American Red Cross Course, you will receive an American Red Cross course certificate. Each course has its own validity length; they range from one year to three years and some do have continual education requirements.
Registration is available on http://www.valleyisleaquatics.com

|This is the Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) Course.|
The FIT course will introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure, and activities of the American Red Cross (ARC) and prepares them to teach ARC specialty courses like swimming (WSI), CPR, Lifeguard Training, First Aid, Babysitting, etc. to diverse populations. Students will receive a certification at the end of class and then be able to go on to get a Lifeguard Training Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, CPR & First Aid Instructor, or a variety of other specialty course Certification (s) from the American Red Cross. This training is a prerequisite to all American Red Cross instructor specialty courses.
*If you already have this certification, you will need to provide an original document indicating that you completed the course, with the completion date, and authorized signature.
*You are responsible for ordering and purchasing all the materials and books for the course from the Maui Red Cross Branch. FIT Book ($24.95).
